Jaiya is a 6-year-old service dog that was rescued from the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area. Kamille, Jaiya’s owner, found out recently after adoption that she was abused for not passing her original service dog certification as a puppy. This inspired Kamille to make sure that Jaiya lived out her purpose of being a therapeutic service animal at a medical facility. After months of training and office visits, her and her owner went for recertification and passed with flying colors. Now, Jaiya is in our office on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s to provide therapeutic support to our staff, our clients, and patients who are in need of a little extra love from our four-legged friend.
