Consumer Advisory Board

Alder Health Services Consumer Advisory Board (CAB)’s purpose is to provide feedback and client perceptions to improve overall client experience.

The mission of the Alder’s CAB is to provide a space for clients to share their experiences with Alder Health Services’ case management and to utilize their insight to guide our services.

Participating in the Alder’s CAB not only helps to make our services better but also offers some perks to the participants. These perks are listed at the end of this document.

Responsibilities:

  • Discuss challenges and barriers that clients face in meeting their goals. Assist the Case Management Team in brainstorming solutions.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings (a minimum of 2 meetings held a year).
  • Participate in meeting discussions.
  • Respect the opinions and ideas of other Consumer Advisory Board members.
  • Review the annual client survey to make sure questions are clear, understandable, and relevant to client needs.
  • Review program policies and procedures to see if they are focused on the needs of consumers and their families.
  • Identify ways to recruit and retain hard-to-reach populations or populations with special needs within service programs.
  • Review Alder Health’s Agency publications to be sure they are easy to understand and address real community needs.

Special Officer Positions

  1. Chair
    • Work with Staff Liaison to preside over all meetings and facilitate discussion among Consumer Advisory Board members.
    • Communicate with Alder’s Staff Liaison (Case Management Supervisor) regarding logistics of CAB decisions.
    • Serve as a liaison for the CAB to the larger community
  2. Secretary Co-Chair
    • Preside over Consumer Advisory Board meetings in absence of the Chair.
    • Take attendance
    • Take succinct notes of all that occurs during the CAB meeting.
    • Review minutes before distribution.
