Per Diem Behavioral Health Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

Serves individuals with mental illness.*

Provides high-quality, compassionate, and ethical outpatient mental health therapy.*

Completes clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.*

Maintains required billable hours, works a minimum of one evening per week, and maintains work hours in a way that is responsive to client needs.*

Performs clinical assessments and develops treatment plans.*

Completes assessment tools with each client at intake and during treatment plan updates.*

Updates treatment plans as required.*

Responsible for being knowledgeable and comfortable with World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.*

Provides on call services for after hours on a rotating basis.*

Seeks out updated information on relevant issues and best practices.*

Maintains good standing with the appropriate licensing board.*

Completes all required and recommended continuing education requirements (30 hours every two years).*

Participates actively as a positive member of the clinic environment.*

Serves as an advocate for the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, those impacted by HIV/AIDS, and others who have traditionally been marginalized by the healthcare system.*

Remains aware of community referral sources as necessary.*

Secures client information per HIPPA and agency standards.*

Ensures the highest level of confidentiality for all clients, client records, and client-related issues.*

Provide services in person at our office and via telehealth.*

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Math Ability:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and internet software.



Master's degree in Social Work (MSW preferred), Counseling, or related field.

One to two years post-licensure experience providing individual psychotherapy services.

Experience with diverse populations.

Passion for working with and advocating for LGBTQ+ community.


Specialized Training:

Training and experience related to working with LGBTQ+ individuals strongly preferred.


Certificates and Licenses:

·     Licensure required - LCSW (preferred), LPC, or LMFT

·     Successful completion of a criminal background check, child abuse, and FBI clearances



Electronic health record, telehealth platform


Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

·     Strong time management skills

·     Strong written and oral communication skills
